Carl joins up with Eric Theise for “A Synesthete’s Atlas”, using real time cartographic improvisations using projected, manipulated digital maps, all with usic supplied improvisationaly. A visual wash of street grids, land masses, water bodies, and curiosities from built and natural environments. Orphaned labels and free-floating symbology. Auditory roundabouts. Saturated colors and the subtlest of tints. Acoustic cul-de-sacs. Jittery zooms, pans, and traversals plus glitches in crowd-sourced data.

April 11 Chicago IL Elastic Arts

Carl returns to Chicago for a public concert at Elastic Arts, as the culmaination of a five day CLEAT performance/residency. Joining Carl for the evening will be sets from Chicago-based producer/composer Mike Meegan makes music under the moniker RXM Reality, and Chicago based experimental sound artist and musician Nicole Alonso, blending sampling, sound manipulation, and live performance to explore themes of space, memory, and identity.
